ABOUT ETIS

WHAT IS ETIS ?

Set up by the government of French Polynesia, ETIS is a mandatory health registration form for any traveler arriving in French Polynesia by air. This formality is added to the existing and related entry conditions for foreigners in Polynesian territory. This formality has been in force since July 12, 2020 (DECREE no. 832 CM of June 24, 2020) for an indefinite period.

WHERE CAN I COMPLETE AN ETIS HEALTH FORM ?

The health form is only available at www.ETIS.pf. It is mandatory for all resident and non-resident travelers and must be presented at airline check-in before boarding to validate your trip to Polynesia.

WHO MUST SUBMIT AN ETIS APPLICATION ?

Everyone (whether residents or non-residents, French citizens or not) is required to submit an ETIS application via the etis.pf website.

WHEN SHOULD I SUBMIT AN APPLICATION ?

Your application must be submitted within three days of your flight, and each time you enter Polynesian territory.

HOW LONG DOES THE ETIS APPLICATION PROCESS LAST?

Based on the stages of your FP itinerary to fill out, it takes, on average, about 10 minutes.

DO YOU HAVE TO PAY A FEE TO COMPLETE AN ETIS APPLICATION?

No, ETIS is free.

HOW DO I ACCESS THE ETIS PLATFORM?

You can access the website by typing 'www.etis.pf' in the search tab, or by visiting the institutional websites of the country, the state and Tahiti Tourisme, as well as of the airlines (Air Tahiti Nui, French Bee, Air France, United Airlines). You can also access through travel agencies.

DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT AN ETIS APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF MY CHILDREN (-18 AND +18 YEARS OLD)?

If your child is of age (+18 years old), he/she will have to fill out an ETIS form of his/her own. If your child is a minor (-18 years old), you will have to register as declarant and complete all information related to your child. If your child is traveling alone, you won't have to travel with him/her, but the application process remains the same. When completing the 'Personal Information' tab, you will be able to check the option, 'I am not traveling on this flight and I am only making a declaration on behalf of a child under 18 years old.' This will create an ETIS file in the name of your child.

DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT AN ETIS APPLICATION IF I HAVE FRENCH NATIONALITY?

Yes, all passengers of any nationality (residents and non-residents) will need to complete an ETIS application before arriving in French Polynesia.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE DOUBLE NATIONALITY AND/OR A PASSPORT FROM SEVERAL COUNTRIES?

Choose one of the two passports for your declaration.

DOES AN ETIS APPLICATION GUARANTEE MY ADMISSION TO FRENCH POLYNESIA?

ETIS is a mandatory health registration form and does not replace regular entry formalities into French Polynesia for foreigners. This formality is added to the existing and related entry conditions for foreigners in Polynesian territory.

RECEIPT AND TRAVEL INSURANCE

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIVING MY RECEIPT?

You will be sent a receipt immediately after completing all the information required for your ETIS application.

DO I NEED TO HAVE A PRINTED OR DIGITAL COPY OF MY ETIS RECEIPT WITH ME?

Yes, your receipt can be requested at any time during your stay. You will have to present a printed copy upon arrival at your destination.

I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE RECEIPT. HOW CAN I RETRIEVE IT?

If you completed the process and the platform displayed the message “Application approved,” your application has been registered and an email has been generated by the platform. Please check your spam or junk mail folder or other folders in your inbox. The email may have been sent there because the .PF domain is unusual.

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY ETIS RECEIPT?

Send an email to the support contact of the ETIS.pf site: contact@etis.pf.

I HAVE RECEIVED THE RECEIPT BUT NOT THE QR CODE. WHAT DO I DO?

You have to download the images (some inboxes prevent automatic downloads).

IF I CHANGE INFORMATION IN MY ETIS APPLICATION, WILL I RECEIVE A NEW QR CODE?

If a change is made to the application, no confirmation emails will be sent again. Note that you can only make changes to your itinerary.

I HAVE RECEIVED MY ETIS RECEIPT BUT I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT MY CHILD'S INFORMATION HAS BEEN PROPERLY RECORDED.

To check if this is the case, you can go to the 'Modify a file' tab and enter your child's passport number and date of birth.

IS IT MANDATORY THAT I HAVE INSURANCE? I AM BELGIAN AND RESIDENT IN MAINLAND FRANCE

Travel insurance is mandatory for anyone traveling to French Polynesia who is not a French citizen and is not affiliated with French social security, with whom Polynesia has agreements.

IN-TRANSIT PASSENGERS

DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT AN ETIS APPLICATION IF I AM JUST PASSING THROUGH FRENCH POLYNESIA, ON MY WAY TO ANOTHER COUNTRY? (In-transit passengers)

If a traveler plans to pass through French Polynesia to go to another country, when completing the ETIS application, he/she must answer “Yes” to the question, “Is your trip to French Polynesia only a transit to a another country?'

LANGUAGES

WHERE CAN I CHANGE THE LANGUAGE OF THE ETIS PLATFORM?

To change the language of the platform, go to the top right corner of the website and change the flag.

FILL OUT YOUR APPLICATION

HOW CAN I SAVE MY PARTIALLY COMPLETED APPLICATION?

You cannot save a partially completed form to finish it later. Once you close the etis.pf page, your data will be deleted and you will have to start the process again.

HOW CAN I CORRECT A MISTAKE IN MY APPLICATION?

The ETIS site will allow visitors to review and correct all their data before submitting their final application, including their identity and passport number. Once the application has been submitted and validated, it will only be possible to correct information related with the travel itinerary. If, after an ETIS application has been validated, the visitor realizes that he/she has made a mistake when entering his/her personal information or registration, he/she can delete it. To do this, go to “Manage my file” => Delete my ETIS information

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY INFORMATION CHANGES BETWEEN THE TIME I CREATE THE APPLICATION AND MY DEPARTURE?
You must delete your previous application and start a new one.
WHAT IS THE PERIOD OF VALIDITY FOR MY ETIS APPLICATION?

The ETIS form is only valid for your current stay in Polynesia with a maximum period of three months of stay. You have to fill out an ETIS application each time you travel to French Polynesia.

MY CHILD IS A STUDENT AND IS RETURNING TO TAHITI FOR A MONTH. MUST HE/SHE COMPLETE THE “RESIDENT” OR “NON-RESIDENT” ONLINE FORM?

Resident.

I CANNOT ACCESS MY CHILD'S ETIS FILE TO MAKE CHANGES. IS THIS NORMAL?

If you need to modify a child's form, you need to log in with the declarant's passport because the child cannot make changes to it.

I WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE MY ITINERARY IN THE ISLANDS. WHAT DO I DO?

To modify your application, please go to the 'Modify my file' tab and fill out all fields. However, only the itinerary can be modified. If you need to change any other information, you must delete this file and start a new application.

VERIFICATION OF YOUR ETIS STATUS

WHY DO I NEED TO PROVIDE A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS?

A valid email address is required to complete an ETIS application. Notifications regarding the status of the application are sent to the email address specified in said application. In addition, the ETIS application number, as well as the receipt, are sent to the email address. Reminders related with self-tests will also be sent by email.

HOW CAN I CHECK MY ETIS STATUS?

You can check your ETIS status immediately after submitting your application. A confirmation email will be sent to you once you have completed all the steps and understood and accepted the specific conditions to enter and stay in French Polynesia.

WHAT DO I DO IF MY ETIS APPLICATION IS REJECTED?

ETIS applications are not rejected; if it was not approved, you may have failed to check all the boxes and therefore validate all your responses.

I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A VALIDATION CODE. WHAT DO I DO?

Please check the different folders in your email inbox. The email may have been sent there because it is a .PF domain. If you have a Gmail account, please check the Notifications and Promotions tab as well as your Spam or Junk Mail folder.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY

HOW DOES THE GOVERNMENT OF FRENCH POLYNESIA PROTECT THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF THE ETIS DATA, AND WHO HAS ACCESS TO IT?

Only the Health Authorities are authorized to access the information in your file and will only do so when necessary, if you declare COVID-19 positivity during your stay.

HOW LONG WILL MY APPLICATION DATA BE STORED?

Data are stored for 90 days after you leave French Polynesia. After that time, all data are overwritten.

IS MY INFORMATION SECURE?

Yes. This website is managed by the Tourism Department and incorporates the data protection rules pursuant to GDPR laws (maximum data security). No medical data will be included in the ETIS platform.
